Assist-Travel/Transport is a Core NDIS support that funds help getting to and from work, appointments, community activities and social events, for participants who can't use public transport or drive independently. Brighter Support Care provides this support across Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich and the Gold Coast.
These two supports are related but different. Assist-Travel/Transport funds the actual, ongoing transport assistance a support worker provides to get a participant where they need to be. Development-Life Skills is about building the skill and confidence to use public transport independently over time. Some participants use both together, transport support now, while working toward independent travel as a longer-term goal.
We schedule regular transport around a participant's routine, such as a daily trip to work, alongside one-off trips for appointments or events. Reliability matters here, so we plan around realistic travel times and confirm bookings ahead of time. Our support workers know the local areas they cover across Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich and the Gold Coast, which matters for getting participants to appointments and activities on time.
What to expect: Your first trip usually starts with a short introduction between you and your support worker, confirming pick-up points, timing and any assistance you need getting in and out of the vehicle, so future trips run smoothly.
Reliability matters most with transport support. A missed pick-up affects appointments, work and community activities. Brighter Support Care's local drivers cover Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich and the Gold Coast as a registered NDIS provider, and we plan realistic travel times so participants arrive on schedule.
