Community Participation is a Core NDIS support that funds one-on-one or small-group assistance to take part in social, recreational and community life, whether that's a local sports club, a hobby group, a class, or simply spending time in places that matter to the participant. Brighter Support Care delivers this support across Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich and the Gold Coast.
It's worth being clear on how these three relate. Community Participation is general, ongoing support, often one-on-one, to be part of community life day to day. Group/Centre Activities are structured group programs run at set times, either at a centre or in the community. Innovative Community Participation is a capacity-building support aimed specifically at developing a new skill through non-traditional programs. Many participants use a mix of all three, depending on their goals and stage.
Regular contact with community, whether through a club, a class or a familiar local group, is one of the strongest factors in wellbeing, and reduces the isolation that can come with limited mobility or support options. Our support workers help participants connect with local groups, clubs and activities across all four regions, matched around genuine interest rather than whatever happens to be available that week.
What to expect: We usually begin with a conversation about what community connection currently looks like for you, and where you'd like it to grow, then introduce you gradually to the groups or activities that fit.
Brighter Support Care support workers take time to understand what a participant actually enjoys, rather than defaulting to the nearest available activity. Across Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich and the Gold Coast, we help build connections participants want to keep going with beyond funded support hours, as a registered NDIS provider.

Yes. Support is built around the participant's own interests and goals, not a fixed list of activities.
It can be either, depending on the participant's preference and what's included in their plan, though it's most commonly delivered one-on-one or in small groups.
Building social connections is a common goal of this support, and support workers help facilitate introductions and ongoing participation in groups where friendships can develop.
Community Participation support can include getting to and from the activity where this is included in your plan, or it can be paired with Assist-Travel/Transport support.
This depends on your funded hours rather than a fixed limit on activities. We help plan how to use your hours across the activities that matter most to you.
