Innovative Community Participation is an NDIS Capacity Building support, funded under Increased Social and Community Participation, that pays for creative, non-traditional programs designed to build a participant's real, lasting independence in the community. Brighter Support Care delivers this support as a registered NDIS provider (registration 405 353 9351) across Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich and the Gold Coast.
These three NDIS supports sound similar, so it's worth being clear on the difference. Innovative Community Participation is a capacity-building support aimed at developing a specific skill through non-traditional, often individually tailored programs, usually over a defined period. Community Participation is a Core support that funds ongoing, day-to-day help to take part in community life. Group/Centre Activities are structured group programs run at set times, either at a centre or in the community. Many participants use a combination of all three, depending on what stage they're at and what their goals are.
Our support workers across Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich and the Gold Coast build each program around the participant's actual interests, not a set menu of activities. We check in regularly against the goals in your plan and adjust the approach as skills and confidence build, so the support keeps moving toward independence rather than staying static.
What to expect: Your first Innovative Community Participation session usually starts with a conversation about what you'd like to try, followed by an introduction to the activity or setting itself. We keep the pace realistic, building confidence over a few sessions rather than expecting immediate independence.
Brighter Support Care builds Innovative Community Participation programs around what genuinely interests each participant, rather than a standard activity list. As a registered NDIS provider (registration 405 353 9351) across Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich and the Gold Coast, our services are measured against the NDIS Practice Standards, and our local teams understand what's genuinely available in each of these communities.
